Some SME finance teams are seen to be light years ahead of others with a fully integrated, digital platform. These pioneers are expediting rapid scale without going through the arduous process of adding to their own teams. The times of a lagging finance function are over.
With that knowledge, strategic CFOs are discarding their defensive strategy in favour of an expansive one, focussing on aggressive investment into technology. Deloitte recently reported that 89% of CFOs are looking to spend more on digitalisation in 2022 (Gartner 2021).
