Waiting times have doubled, user satisfaction is plummeting and despite significant advancements in modern technology, operational efficiency is stagnating [Forbes, 2024]. NHS Trusts are under extreme pressure to deliver an accessible, efficient and effective service, at a significantly lower cost.
The challenge is, Trusts are still tethered to heritage on-premises technology, with valuable time drained maintaining systems rather than innovating. And despite the transition to cloud offering streamlined operations and greater efficiency, leaders face the challenge of driving immediate value at the same time as battling the task of connecting vast amounts of data securely, whilst remaining compliant with strict data-usage regulations [Forbes, 2023].
When on-premises tech failure can disrupt operations for weeks at a time, the ramifications can be grave.
