Despite uncertainty in the UK market, scale-up business leaders are optimistic about growth in 2020. To achieve this growth, it’s crucial you make the right decisions at the right time. A recent study by McKinsey uncovered that the decisions you make as CEO are directly attributable to 45% of your company’s performance, meaning your decisions will have the greatest single impact on your company’s success in the year ahead.
But business leaders are humans, not machines. You don’t have perfect judgement, perfect experience or perfect skills; and this makes it impossible to make perfect decisions. Indeed, most business leaders are so focused on running their business they spend very little time honing their skills; less than 3% according to a study by HBR [2018]. This makes for a risky mix in 2020 and begs one key question – how can you ensure you are making the right decisions to successfully drive growth in the year ahead?

Now he helps others as a business growth coach and work with clients and their teams in the Management Lab he built on a farm near Salisbury.
